Meet Our Professional Staff
Ken Davidson, Executive Director
Ken joined us in 2008 from the historic congregation Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim in Charleston, South Carolina where he served as its Executive Director. As Executive Director, he is the Chief Operating Officer of the congregation, with responsibility for finance, facilities, human resources, administrative services, membership, communications and programming. With a strong background in managing the operations of both small and large business, Ken is a “people person”who enjoys having the opportunity to say "yes" to the requests of our members. Ken is a Senior Member of NATA (the National Association for Temple Administration) and serves on the boards of the Jewish Cemetery Association, The Darrell D. Friedman Institute for Professional Development and the Mid-Atlantic Temple and Synagogue Administrators' Association. Ken and his wife Susan are the parents of Rachel and Austin.
Sally Fink, Director of Life Long Learning
Sally Fink, our Director of Life Long Learning, grew up in Glendale, California and graduated from the University of Minnesota. She has been a Jewish educator for over thirty years with expertise in experiential learning. Sally has been a Melton Educator for over ten years and has created the extensive Family Education and Adult Learning at Temple Oheb Shalom. The Union for Reform Judaism has recognized her contributions to Jewish learning by appointing her to the National Council of Life Long Learning. She servces on the Board of Directors of the Baltimore Center for Jewish Education and is on the Executive Board of the Jewish Museum of Maryland. Sally is married to Rabbi Steven M. Fink and has three children Nathaniel, Miriam and Benjamin.
Aileen Friedman, Director, The Learning Ladder
Aileen Friedman is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, K-12. She also earned a Masters degree in Jewish Education from Baltimore Hebrew Institute at Towson University and has taken courses at George Washington University toward Administration certification. As a Jewish Educator for the past 30 years, Aileen has taught two year olds through high school. She was a kindergarten teacher for 14 years in Jewish day schools here in Baltimore. For the eight years prior to joining us at Temple Oheb Shalom Aileen was the director of preschools in Laurel and Rockville. Aileen is married to Howard and has three children and two grandchildren.
Maxine Lowy, Director, Development and Special Programs
Maxine Lowy is a fourth-generation member of Temple Oheb Shalom. She served in many volunteer leadership positions at Oheb Shalom until she accepted the position of Director of Development and Special Programs in 2002. In 2004 she was responsible for Writing Torah…The Experience of a Lifetime, an endeavor in which the members of Temple Oheb Shalom were able to write a Sefer Torah commissioned exclusively by and for Temple Oheb Shalom. From this came the completion of the Taylor Family Learning Center and the many programs and learning opportunities associated with it. Maxine is married to Bob, who is also an active, lifelong member of Oheb Shalom. They have two sons, Eric and Adam.
